This project focuses on drop foot. This disease is caused by a stroke or other neurological, muscular or anatomical problems. It prevents the patient from being able to lift their toes while walking, causing them to trip or fall. This design will be able to lock the foot in place and be non-visible, preventing the patient from tripping or falling and not be embarrassed. The product is a high-top shoe with a built in brace, the brace will be custom made for each user so that it matches the contours of the user’s foot and ankle. This design well-suits the wishes of patients with drop foot and eliminate the effects of drop foot. It is a brace that would be incorporated into a high-top shoe, allowing the user to wear the brace and not have attention brought to him or her. With a thick layer of memory foam for comfort, the brace will prevent the patient's foot from dropping below a 90 degree angle.
