Short-Term Scheduling
This assignment used methods to optimize a method of solving assignment problems. The assignment method also known as the Hungarian method is a combinatorial optimization algorithm that solves the assignment problem in polynomial time and which anticipated later primal-dual methods. Johnson's rule is a method of scheduling jobs in two work centers. Its primary objective is to find an optimal sequence of jobs to reduce make span (the total amount of time it takes to complete all jobs). Finding the best sequence of job assignments is important for capability processing as it increases productivity.
